Nonprofit capacity building goes beyond simply improving your computer network or adding staff members. Capacity building means knowing why you are here (mission), where you are going (vision) and how you are going to create the biggest impact possible (strategy). This workshop provides an effective framework for understanding capacity building and strategic planning. Instructor Lynn Taliento of McKinsey and Company, provides assessment tools that your organization can use to determine your current level of capacity and examples of how your organization can continually develop its capacity.
This video also includes a session lead by Instructor Fred Davie of Public/Private Ventures. He shares a model strategic plan and highlights how organizations have used deliberate strategic planning and participant tracking to ensure that their programs are effective and influential.
