Why is this program only for COGIC churches?
The recent election of Bishop Charles Blake to the COGIC general board has motivated a wealthy philanthropist to help Blake realize the vision that was cast in the 2008 COGIC AIM convention held in Detroit, MI. The philanthropist believes that Church of God In Christ (COGIC), under the leadership of Presiding Bishop Charles Blake is well positioned to make a positive impact towards solving many of the problems plaguing African-American communities including high school dropout rates, HIV/AIDS, prisoner reentry, unemployment, homelessness, hunger, etc.
Is this program endorsed by Church of God In Christ or Bishop Charles Blake?
NO! This program IS NOT not funded by, endorsed by or affiliated with the Church Of God In Christ, Inc. or Bishop Charles Blake. This program is funded by a private sponsor for the purpose of helping urban churches make a positive impact on the communities they serve.
Will an education grant be given to NON-COGIC churches?
Although no funding has yet to be officially allocated for NON-COGIC churches, the philanthropists' generosity continues to grow as a similar contribution for the development of Full Gospel, AME, AMEZ, and Baptist churches are currently under consideration contingent upon the success of the COGIC initiative.
