My name is Tracy J. Brown, President of Urban Awareness USA, a nonprofit organization that helps urban faith-based organizations deal more effectively with the unique challenges facing urban communities. Our wide array of services range from:
1. Helping small and mid size churches and faith based organizations obtain government grant funds for their youth programs, ex-offender re-entry programs, sanctuary construction and other building projects.
2. Helping large churches and faith based organizations obtain grant funding to build mega sanctuaries, life centers, senior housing or to develop real estate for affordable housing for their members.
3. We also have services to help any size church increase its tithes and offering, increase financial stability in slow economic times, increase membership, increase participation for congregants, leadership training, stewardship training, and much more.
4. In addition to services that “increase” areas of you ministry, we also offer education on how to decrease your exposure to the IRS, decrease your interest rate on your church mortgage, decrease your turnover rate, decrease the number of black males that go to prison in your community, decrease your community’s homeless rate, decrease your community’s jobless rate, and much more.

My staff and I thoroughly enjoy traveling around the country teaching our students and clients what it takes to obtain the necessary FREE funding to help them make their mission statements come to life and make a lasting impact on their surrounding communities. In this day of slippery economic times and devastating social challenges in the urban communities, it’s the job of the U.S. Government to help stimulate growth and development in urban America. Most recently, the U.S. Government launched its office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. This office is specifically designed to help faith-based organizations tap into government funding to help solve many of the social problems plaguing our country.
Did you know that there are Billions of dollars available for faith-based organizations just like yours; but, sadly less than 5% of all faith-based organizations will actually apply to obtain the funds! Of those few organizations that do actually apply for funding, very few serve African-American and other minority communities. Why do you think that is? Why is so little funding going to areas that most desperately need it? Why is it that so much of the funding goes unclaimed and unapplied for?
We believe it’s because Urban Churches have been misinformed about what’s available and how the process really works. In addition to misinformation, many urban churches lack the administrative and organizational capacity to be awarded federal funds. To help resolve these challenges, recently, URBAN AWARENESS USA WAS AWARDED A PRIVATE GRANT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATING CHURCHES IN THE TOP 20 AFRICAN-AMERICAN POPULATED METROPOLITAN AREAS ABOUT THE MULTIPLE GRANT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FROM FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS AND EXACTLY HOW URBAN CHURCHES CAN OBTAIN FUNDING.
